Perianal conditions are common and can cause significant discomfort, but effective treatments are available. Dr Patrick Lau provides assessment and surgical management of a range of perianal conditions in a discreet and professional setting.

Conditions treated by Dr Lau

  • Haemorrhoids

  • Anal fissure

  • Fistula-in-ano

Haemorrhoids

Haemorrhoids are swollen blood vessels in and around the anus and lower rectum. Many cases can be managed with non-surgical measures, but where symptoms persist or are more severe, a range of surgical and procedural options are available and will be discussed based on your individual presentation.

Anal Fissure and Fistula-in-Ano

An anal fissure is a small tear in the lining of the anus, often causing pain and bleeding, particularly with bowel movements. A fistula-in-ano is an abnormal channel that can form between the anal canal and the skin, often following a previous abscess. Both conditions are assessed individually, with treatment ranging from conservative management through to surgical repair depending on severity and response to initial treatment.

What to Expect

Dr Lau understands these conditions can be uncomfortable to discuss, and consultations are conducted with sensitivity and care to ensure you feel comfortable throughout your assessment and treatment.
