Minor Surgical Procedures
In addition to general and emergency surgery, Dr Patrick Lau performs a range of minor surgical procedures. These procedures are typically performed as day cases under local anaesthesia, allowing for a quick recovery and minimal disruption to your day-to-day life.
Procedures offered by Dr Lau
Ingrown toenail surgery
Carpal tunnel release
Ingrown Toenail Surgery
Ingrown toenails occur when the edge of the nail grows into the surrounding skin, causing pain, redness and sometimes infection. When conservative treatment has not resolved the problem, a minor surgical procedure can permanently correct the affected portion of the nail.
Carpal Tunnel Release
Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve, which runs through the wrist, becomes compressed, leading to numbness, tingling or pain in the hand and fingers. Where non-surgical treatment has not provided sufficient relief, carpal tunnel release surgery can relieve pressure on the nerve and improve symptoms.
